Cahir Park 4 Two Mile Borris 0
St. Kevin’s Two Mile Borris started the far brighter of the two sides dominating possession and pressing the home side deep into their own half, spurning three clear cut chances to open the scoring.
Up to that point Cahir Park were relying on the odd break out of defence. Eventually with a change in shape Cahir came more into the game and were rewarded on 25 minutes when the unmarked Brian White slotted home.
Both sides fought hard to gain the upper hand and it was the home side that benefited from a defensive lapse as Conor Lonergan, on 38 minutes, latched onto a wayward pass, beat the last defender and powering past the St Kevin’s keeper.
The second half began much as the first with the luckless Two Mile Borris team again missing changes when in great positions. Then on 65 minutes this tie was all but settled when Tom Keating, capped his man of the match performance, with a clever finish from just outside the penalty area to the bottom corner of the net.
As Borris tried to force a goal gaps began to appear and Cahir Park should have added to their tally. Eventually on 89 minutes, Brian White grabbed his second and Cahir Park’s fourth.

FAI Under 17 Cup First Round
Cahir Park 4 Cashel Town 3
Having won their respective preliminary round games in this competition these two team met each other in Cahir on Saturday last.
Cahir started quickly and the game was barely 3 minutes old when Jack Kennedy finished smartly to put the home side 1 goal up.
The home side continued to dominate only to find the Cashel town Keeper in superb form keeping them at bay.
As chance after chance went by Cashel began to grow in confidence and the impressive Ridrigo Goncalves started to get on the ball and cause the Park defence problems.
Just on the stroke of half time Goncalves struck an unstoppable shot from all of 25 yards into the roof of the net to see the sides on level terms at half time.
The second half began as the first with the game barely restarted when Brian White nipped in to finish very smartly on 47 minutes, only to see Goncalves bring the sides level again on 60 minutes with a cool finish to the bottom corner and the same player grabbed his hat-trick and capped his man of the match performance powering home a rebound from the Cahir keeper, Mark Kelly and putting Cashel Town in front for the first time on 67 minutes.
That sparked the home side into action who continuously pressed the away side backwards forcing numerous last ditch tackles before Brian White, on 77 minutes, picked up the ball wide on the right and beat two defenders before cutting in and unleashing an unstoppable shot to the top right hand corner from outside the penalty area. The teams were all square once again, but from here there only looked like one winner with Cahir Park probing and the Cashel Town defence visibly tiring. Just before full time the Cashel Town outfit were dealt a blow when Dylan Gubbins made a lunging challenge giving the referee no option but to issue him a second yellow card. So the game went to extra time.
The away team got gamely behind the ball with The Park asking all the questions without finding the required finishes. It took well into the second period of extra time before on 114 minutes a Dylan Sullivan shot struck a Cashel Town defender and wrong footed the keeper to give Cahir Park a deserved 4 – 3 win.

FAI Under 17 Cup Preliminary Round
Cahir Park 6 Ballmackey 3
Cahir Park welcomed a highly fancied Ballymackey from the North Tipperary District League.
In a whirlwind opening 15 minute spell Ballymackey, hit the woodwork twice and raced into a 2 – 0 lead the first coming in the 3rd minute form Calvin O’Rourke and the second after 12 minutes when Gearoid Murphy managed to pick up the rebound from the stranded Cahir keeper. Then Cahir had a fine spell, playing some scintillating football creating a number of chances themselves before on 20 minutes Brian White pulled one back for the home side and 2 minutes later the same player beat three defenders before powering his shot to the net to bring the sides level which is how the first half ended.
The second half was barely a minute old when Dean O’Brien raided down the left wing to centre for Johnny Coveney who put the home side in front for the first time.
Cahir Park then took total control of the tie creating chance after chance before a fine individual goal saw Brian White grab his hat trick on 59 minutes and his 4th of the game with another powerful finish only 2 minutes later
to put the tie beyond the visitors.
The remainder of the game saw the North Tipp outfit continue to gamely battle against a series of chances for Cahir Park who grabbed their 6th when Colin Doyle raced onto a through pass, holding off the Ballymackey centre half and slotting past the advancing keeper. Deep in injury time Murphy got his second and a consolation third for Ballymackey.

FAI U17 Cup 2nd Round
Cahir Park 4 Clashmore Ramblers (WWEC) 6
An absorbing tie at Ardfinnan Road on Saturday saw Ramblers from the Waterford / Cork border go through to the next round in a ten-goal thriller. From very early on the home side looked as if they meant business, Eamonn Gleeson netting in a crowded box on 16mins. Within five mins the game was level following an attack down the right wing, a strong header flying past Bartosz Opala in the home side's goal. The keeper kept the Park in the game on 21 and straight from his kick-out, Craig Condon equalized after a free floated into the box. Another free at the other end was converted in style by the visitors, 2-2 with 30 mins gone. With both sides going for victory in an open contest, it was honours even at the break in spite of a Dean Lonergan free going over the bar and a Clashmore effort cleared off the line by Ian Flannery.
Six mins into the second half and Cahir were ahead with a brilliant goal from a volley by Gerry Cronin after a free kick from the right from cahirparkafc.com Man of the Match Keelin Hickey. Again, the visitors were quick to equalize, never letting Cahir get a necessary two-goal cushion - another set-piece goal with a header finding the net from a free-kick 25yds out. Substitute Jamie Fitzgerald was next on target, his effort coming back off the crossbar after good work by Cronin on the left. A goal to put the home side ahead again on the 73rd bore striking resemblance to Cronin's earlier goal as he netted again on the half-volley after Hickey provided the pin-point cross. The turning point of the game came in the 86th min with the visitors awarded a fortuitous penalty which brought the game to 4-4 and extra time.
A 30yd stormer almost from the kick-off beat Opala despite his best efforts and Clashmore were 5-4 ahead. Whilst this was a goal worthy of winning the game, the Pakie ODwyer and Keith Edwards-led Cahir could have counted themselves unlucky as over the 90 mins they did deserve the win. The final nail in the coffin came almost on the full time whilstle after the 20 additional mins when Ramblers broke quickly down the left and Opala was chipped as he advanced from goal.
Cahir Park AFC: Bartosz Opala, Keelin Hickey, Eamonn Gleeson, Tommy Sweeney, Dealga Roche; Ian Flannery, Dean Lonergan, Craig Condon, Gerry Cronin; Chris English, Mark Shortt. Subs used: Jamie Fitzgerald for English, Gavin McCarthy for Roche, Lorcan Blake for Cronin

Sunday 16/05/10 Joe Delaney Cup Final St Michaels 2 Cahir Park (A) 0
The Park’s second chance for silverware in as many days came to nothing after a bout with a stronger Tipp Town side at home on Sunday. In front of a good crowd Michaels made all the early running and went ahead with a strong effort from the edge of the D on 18mins. This was added to on 37mins with an Aaron Wall save parried into an oncoming Michaels attacker to put the tie beyond doubt. In fairness to a game Cahir side, they carried the game to the visitors inside the first twenty mins of the second 45 but a resilient rearguard never looked like giving in despite good efforts from Shane Murphy and Eddie Kendrick amongst others. So near and yet so far for the youth challenge for silverware for the season joint managers Keith Edwards and Packie O’Dwyer disappointed after a great win over Clonmel Town in the semi-final. Joe and John Delaney both travelled to the venue for presentation of the cup.
